Morning walk

Got out  an hour early to walk to a spot I had two good take downs yesterday.Sure they were  perch.

Took my time a snapped a few pics.

It's high tide now . My best bites have been about half HR or so when the tide is going out. :smt001

Looks like a nice morning walk

Was a nice, needed walk. Yes, that photo was taken upwind.

The smelt were thick this morning. My end count was 6 smelt and 4 small perch released.

Did see some cool nature things of course. Multiple sealions, a few porpoises and one sealion that was actually riding a wave.

I actually fished this spot yesterday and was hoping to find the two perchies i missed on great takedowns. Unfortunately, the surf is vast, and they were nowhere to be found.  :smt005

Took a drive down by the old Phil's fish market that is moving to castroville. Area looks so different. The Marine sanctuary is pretty much taken over the entire area. A few homes left that are up for sale.

With the swell down, I hit my local SC fave spot with my dog.  30 casts, 29 fish.  All small. Biggest about 10".  Nice sunset. All released of course except the one that ghost ate. Water is clean with only a little kelp. Going back tomorrow for high tide, gonna throw an LC.

Spent the past four days acting as arms for my wife.  She ate it on her ebike (storm grating in a parking lot). Faceplant knocked out a tooth, black eye and....two broken arms! OMG  I've been feeding her by hand. She almost choked on BFT sushi, laughing  when I called her "my little penguin"   Finally got in to see the Osteopath Dr today, who removed the urgent care splint and released her from wearing the double slings. The fractures are uncomplicated and they want her to use her arms as much as she can so they don't stiffen up.  She sent me and the dog away for sunset while her friend came over with 'chef' food. What a relief!
