Got invited to my buddy Edsel's family & friends camping trip - Had a blast! Edsel reserved the Hetch Hetchy site with was almost a mile hike / paddle to. Lot's of shade, had a fire ring, fresh running water, 2 bathrooms (not porto pottys) and more importantly = LAKE SIDE  :smt007

I always wanted to Kayak camp and so this was a test for me. I decided to stuff some of my gear in my Trident and then tow my Malibu X Factor with additional gear to make my stay a very comfortable one  :smt002

Tent,Sleeping bag, clothing, air matress and fishing gear in the Trident. The X-Factor took the "very comfortable lawn chair", cooking stuff and the cooler.

(I brought the X-Factor so the "Dad's could take their kids out for a paddle")

I managed to catch 3 cats (lost 2) with frozen chovys fishing from the bank during the early morning hours. When day light broke, I trolled the deadly rapala and caught  a Large Mouth Bass (lost one too)and a rouge crappie. The LMB was gut hooked so it was donated to the fryer....along with the crappie.

That's a sick spider. You shoulda tried to find a scorpion and had them battle.

What does it take to reserve Hetch Hetchy? I thought that was a youth camp only. Nice fish Mooch.

Compa - just call the East Bay Parks and Req and see if they have a date open and all you have to do is put down a deposit. It's considered a group camp site and so I believe you have to have a certain number of campers to get the site.

Since Edsel had a lot of campers invited, we only paid 3 bucks each for an over nighter. IMO....dam cheap and very worth it  :smt002

I'll be checking on availability dates as well....would like to get a gathering going with fellow NCKA'ers....

CREEPY and HAIRY!

I would be sooo down with a catfish hunt/campout. I was just lamenting about how I never catch catfish anymore. I used to fish for them in Socal at lake Cachuma. One of my fav eatin' fish.
Nice Crappie, too!
Now if only my dog could ride in a kayak (doubtful, snow dogs prefer white stuff to blue stuff)

That tarantula is freaky. We got 'em at our place, but not quite so big. Yick. How big of a bass would it take to swallow that?
