2 friends and i launched about 8am into overcast windless seas. we fished 60-140ft depth northwest of the cove. we landed 4 24-28in lings and released 2 underlings. also caught 1/2 doz misc.rockfish. we came back in,had a snack and went back out for some abs. off the water about 1pm. i was surprised at how many lings we got. usually don't get that many. maybe they are starting to come in to spawn. i've decided that fall is my favorite of all seasons for fishing

As the season goes on, more lings will be in. The later into the season, the better it gets. Only problem, the windows get smaller... I passed on going out, because the swells were up a little, but it sounds like it was just fine. Main thing, NO WIND!!!  :smt003

It seems like oceancove to ftross drift would be doable. the swell was up around 6ft but there was enough time between  them that it wasn't steep at all. nice day to be riding the big blue. i actually got kinda queasy from staring at my ff to much. we also had our share of snags.plenty of kelp out there. sorry no pics, still havn't funded a camera yet. the one i want costs about $400.
