I'll be on the Condor for a birthday trip. Heading down after work Tuesday. Lots of spots open on the boat but the reports have slowed a bit.

I did a 2.5 on the Condor August 7-10 this year. It was my first time on this boat. It’s a very roomy on the rails. Plenty of rod room too. If you haven’t already, the boat allows you to choose your bunk in advance. Just call fisherman’s landing. I’d also suggest taking an extra blanket/towel to hang up to block some of the lights that don’t turn off.

We went south on our trip. Wide open dorado/yellowtail fishing the first day. I was throwing 50lb and getting bit just as much as 30. Easier to keep the bigger yellowtail out of the kelp with the heavier line. We got a few yellowfin and two bluefin I believe.

Good luck and have fun. I have a three day scheduled on the Islander the end of September. First time for me on that boat. I can’t wait!
