Lake Mendo - Sunday 9/9

I've got to pick up a new yak from Sean on Sunday morning.  Anyone going to be fishing the lake in the morning?

I'll probably fish until about noon.  Then I'll grab some lunch somewhere in town before starting my journey back down.

I think I read somewhere that there is another store that sells bait somewhat early in the morning? Any info on where that is?

I was out this morning and the striper action was very slow! Once I loaded my kayak, I saw a boil right in front of the South boat ramp.........go figure!

Additionally, the South boat ramp will be closed Sunday for "an event". I believe it's a triathlon.

The small and large bass action has also been moderate, so bring crayfish softbait too.

Thanks for the info Mahi.  I'm going to have to take a look at the map to figure out where the north ramp is...I've only been there once and I think I launched from the south ramp.

Damn this triathlon'ers...don't they know I'm trying to get my fish on! 

I think the bait store is on the way to the south ramp right? If so, do you know where else I can buy minnows? I thought I had read somewhere that it was available from a store other than the one to the ramp.

Angel, stay on 101N. till you get to HWY20. take 20 for 5-10min. and the exit is North BoatRamp / or Bushay Camp.  The bait shop (per Mooch) is at the ramp(go figure) and from the last post....the guy didn't show til after 8...same story as before, but it's better than spending a half-hour back-tracking from the shop (southside) back up to the north.
If the guys not there...you can start to unload and park while he's taking his sweet time.

Yep, heard from Sean and you're right...because of logistical issues I wont be making the trip. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. 

Grand Tour?  Any chance we can borrow a helicopter? I'd like to fast rope onto the lake..

FYI-the north launch is now closed and fenced off, not enough water.

Yep, I worked with the 129th C.A.N.G. out of Moffet(sp) They took care of me by landing that at my kids school and doing a presentation.  The Principal and I flew in and landed in the field.  My boys were king of the hill (that day)

Must have been awesome for your kids to see you pull up in that.  I'm sure it's something they'll never forget.  My son, Omar, will have to do with pictures since daddy don't do that no more.
