Hi all,

This is actually my second go-around introducing myself here. I introduced myself here around 9-10ish years ago when I lived here in the Bay area my first time, not that I fished much or met many people. I was a part of the Tupperware fleet, fishing on a old Ocean Kayak - Malibu II with a milk crate strapped to the back of the kayak. But alas, the boat is gone and I'm starting all over.

I moved back a while ago, but stuck to surf fishing in the Santa Cruz area for the past few years. I recently blew out my knee, and what better thing to do during my rehab and sitting on my third-point of contact all day other than to read up on this page and basically get hooked again. I'm still 3-4 months before I can get on the water, but I'm actively researching the board for equipment, recommendations etc...

I'll be fishing saltwater, likely around Santa Cruz and in the Bay (Oyster Point?), but will drive for great fishing (great fishing defined as "a good time on the water," catching would be nice, but not required). I'm still looking for my first "real" fishing kayak, currently targeting a newer model (or possibly new) Hobie Outback. I might be able to justify the cost with the wife by saying it's "rehab for the knee ;) "

I've reached out to a guide in the SC area, so I'll be ready to start once I get the all-clear. Other than that, I look forward to meeting others here and share time on the water.

(Just for kicks and a good laugh at my expense, I attached a photo of my old milk-crate that I pulled out of the back of my garage)

....still using my old milk crates, my *improved* milk crate from Feb 2010, had to look at YouTube to see when I posted that.  53k views, youtube was different then...less polished so my junk could get some views :) has gone from 'howto' to entertaining.

Welcome Jm
Always looking for buddies for trips to the big blue.
I will have to try the rehab thing with my wife but she is pretty sharp and knows that I am healthy right now.
