With the constant price increases with everything when do you think they will stop, level out or return to some form of normal?
We just had to have a new well drilled, pricing went up 35% from last summer when we got estimates, $17k went to $25K. Kayaks seem to be no different. How much will folks pay for kayaks? When will they reach a price point above where the consumer will pay?

Well. I think we are coming into a recession so. People are cutting back already.

But agree, prices need to stabilize soon.
if I'm not fishing I'm probably thinking about fishing

Not a bubble so won’t pop. Look to stabilize but that depends on prudent fiscal and monetary policy.

I've been planning a home addition since 2019 and paused because of covid. The addition estimates went from 260k to 500k with probably over runs. I'll wait for a year and hope things level out and supply chain improvements happen.

For work, having to order servers and network hardware 6 months out.

I don’t know, but after scrimping and saving, I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of buying two outback’s in the last year.

First one was a 2019 for $2700 with a ton of extras, beat up but functional. Camo. Loved it, right up until my ebike spontaneously combusted (rad mini for those who are curious), and melted my kayak when it took its trip to the other side.

Last week I picked up that 21 outback for 2500, zero extras, but in perfect condition, naer-even a scratch on her.

So after a LOT of shopping, I gotta say, I don’t see the prices on these going down. Especially when 40% of all money in circulation has been printed in the past 2 years(not an exaggeration, look it up!). Expansion of M2 (money supply) in the US has expanded faster than anytime in American history, and we act like the price of kayaks (and gas, for that matter) are going up! They’re not going up. The currency is being debased. Kayaks aren’t up, the dollar is down.  Just my 2 sats :)

Missed opportunity here.  I mean, you’re right even if you don’t fully understand why.

Just my

Sigh, how about my opinion and $7 will buy you a cup of coffee.

take gasoline for example.  it ramped up quick.  i dont think it will ever go back down to what we imagine. it sure as hell wont go down fast.  it might go down $1 but stay forever above $4.

used kayaks?  i sold my 2019 Camo Compass for a fair price.  i didint want to gouge anyone so i put up the most affordable comparable boat on CL.  it took surprisingly longer to sell than i thought.  the buyer didnt haggle.  i hope we both felt good with the tranaction.

it is a weird time now.  groceries are way up, gas..my salary strangely kinda stays the same.  :(

All they gotta do is press ctrl + P , and the price of everything goes up.  Every time they pass a bill, they print money to pay for it—if we had to pay taxes in accordance with what our gov spends, none of us would own kayaks.

The cost of my work/labor is up so I am passing it on the the consumer. Nothing else I can do. Looks like I am making more on paper, but far from the truth.

Ain’t that the truth, can’t blame you!! But the only one that benefits from raising minimum wage is the thieves  that take a cut (taxes) that’s why they love raising it….. ours went up and so did the cost of everything m, and since they gotta pay more for labor I get to pay more for product. Basic math, maybe that’s why they went and changed to “core math” ?!

Inflation is the far, far bigger thief.  The tax man can’t come close.
