Maybe now you can add a small trampoline to stow some gear or a kill bag with ice cold beer inside :smt007

That looks great and it should work well. Did you also use PVC pipe to fit into the holes in the ama?
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Took it out in the bay to test the ama and it was working great.  Here  is a short clip that my son took when I was testing it.

I have noticed that with my Hobie Sidekicks it is a little more difficult to get a full paddle stroke with the crossbar just behind the seat. I feel I need to move up a little further up in the cockpit so that the paddle doesn't hit the bar. This is usually only the case when I launch and land. I wanted them to be a little farther back but too far and they interfere with the consistency of the bed behind the seat. Do you think you might need to extend the bar a little farther out or back to keep this from happening?

By the way, GREAT idea! I thought about doing that for YEARS, but never pulled the trigger on getting the AMA. The Sidekicks work great though.

Hi Fred,
I tried to paddle and the back bar slightly interfered with a power/full stroke but my main use will be the Mirrage drive so no issue there.

Plan to build a custom trampoline or board or the side ama.  Any tips/suggestions on materials are appreciated.

I always thought that I'd try to make my own trampoline out of bungee cord, by weaving it into a mesh. I like the idea of it not catching wind, and I think if it is stretched tight enough, it'll would work just as well as any cloth. Does that sound totally crazy?
