Hobie AI aka v1 question

This is probably obvious, but I'm missing something here...

I'm finished the final assembly converting my 2013 Adventure into a full AI, and I can't seem to figure out the aka bar pins. I assume I should use a bungee to attach the pin to the loop on the bottom of the aka bar. But, is there anything to hold the pin in place once it's inserted? I hope that makes sense...

Anyways, if anybody has a similar picture to the one I've attached, that would probably answer my question.

Here ya go.  Nothing else needed besides the bungee, the pin stays in place just fine.

After googling these are the only parts wrt aka and xbar connection. The tension of the bungee is probably enough hold the pin in place most the time.

Wow! They charge $21.90 for 1 pin and a foot of bungee cord? Seems to me it would be easy to fabricate one out of stainless rod, at a cost of < $1...
