Code 3 and Mr Matt came a visitin this morning.  I got to test run my new/old Ultra 4.7 Felt a little tippy after a year on the Predator PDL.. Great to paddle again, though my old FF isn't working for shit.  I used frozen herring for just one RF until a PB buddy out there gave me four pieces of squid.  got a few more RF (all released) and then lucked into this 30" flatty. She came up strong and slow. EZ Gaff and stringer. Came in feeling like a new man!

Great catch, Mr. No-Longer-Bushy!

I was out today too, so I hope you don't mind if I piggyback on your report...

I launched at 5:14am and was back at the dock at 11:45am. I went out to about 120 fow, then I let the wind take me where it would as I trolled for salmon, then eventually switched over to do a little bottom bouncing. The wind pushed me to south rock(ish) and then in closer on the west side, and eventually switched for a good sail back to the harbor. Same old story, no sign of salmon, no halibut, but a bunch of rockfish. I also landed 3 lingcod, and 2 of them seemed barely legal, but my measuring device is not too accurate, and I was worried bout shrinkage (its real!), so I didn't keep them.

Btw, it was pretty much ideal conditions for sail trolling. I only pedaled hard when heading out to in the morning, and then maybe for 45 minutes when he wind briefly died. It was a bit gusty at times, and the direction wasn't always ideal, but it was about as good as it gets for lazy trolling...

I may have to brak tradition. I have a TV rduction in a few weeks 'adventure series'.  My wife insists I keep my beard, but must trim it.  She's been on my the past few weeks for brading my beard while watching Netflix.  I think it looks cool.  She does not.  At all.
