I've been thinking of buying these for a while and was just looking at their site: https://kokatat.com/tempest-pant-w-socks-gore-tex-pro/

They seem like they would be ideal for warm weather ocean fishing and they look super comfortable.  However there doesn't appear to be a relief zipper and I am curious if its possible to relieve my bladder otw or not.  They have what looks like a velcro wrap in the front to cinch the waist for keeping water out. Can you undo that and get the job done otw, or is that not doable?

Jokes expected.  :smt044

Al, those look very similar to the NRS splash pants that I have with the exception of the booties. I've had no problems loosening the Velcro and rolling them down to do my business. Most of the time I just head to shore but I have done it in open water. With your AI, you should have no problem getting them down. Having a sudden case of stage fright is another issue! :smt044

A little different thought about those pants:

54-inch wide Gore-Tex fabric/material sells for around $12 to $15 a yard. The design of the Tempest pants is so simple anyone that sews for a hobby can make them. We live in a different time, not so connected or networked to friends, neighbors, and church as we once were, but if you are networked enough to know someone that sews it may be worth a try to have pants custom made with the desired otw amenities. Even a professional tailor could custom make those pants for you for less than ½ the MSRP.

First website that pops up when searched: https://fabricwarehouse.com/fabrics/gore-tex-fabric/

Interesting idea. I wonder if anybody on this forum has tried it...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

I've used Kokatat Tempest dry pants for quite a few years when conditions don't require a full dry suit.  It's easy for a guy to open the Velcro on the waist band, push down the waist, and maneuver your weenie out to pee.

Generally, it is not economical to make your own clothes. I think those pants are an exception to the rule. When I saw how seriously simple the design of those pants are, no pockets, no zippers, no draw strings, and then I saw the MSRP for them … $400+ … and they are basically just sweatpants made out of Gore-Tex.

My wife would “beg to differ” she makes her own clothes and at 1/8 or less of what the stores charge plus she corrects the sizes for her tiny body so they fit like a glove….. I love them gloves!! She makes leggings (I think that’s what the light weight little stretch pants are called) for roughly $2.00-$3.00 the cheap box stores sell them for $20.00 + , with equal quality materials to what she uses.
