I have some friends coming from out of state and may go salmon fishing.  They want to try to bring some fish home.  Does anyone know of any fish processing services simialr to what they have down in San Diego that process/freeze/ship? - Thanks

If you vacuum pack and freeze solid, use a thick walled styrofoam box and FedEx 2-day shipping, no need for frozen gel packs adding to the cost of shipping
I’ve sent frozen tuna and yellowtail from SD trips to the Midwest using this method with success
Best of Luck

I've done this with trout/kokanee/salmon and added 5 medical grade gel packs to 30lbs of meat frozen solid. Carry-on the flight and 40 hours later still frozen solid upon landing in oahu. Must've looked funny on the TSA x-ray. Mud crabs absolutely love trout/salmon carcasses. Planning to do the same thing on my Alaska trip this year as a backup option if processing isn't available there.

Many fishermen spend their lives chasing fish, only to realize that it was themselves that they were chasing.

The "Salty" in my handle refers to my attitude, not the waters I fish
