Dang, wind forecast does seem to be improving for the weekend in SC.  Tempting...

Rockfish were a tad hard to come by but I got a 19.5-inch cabezon and a 29.5-inch lingcod. Wind and swells chased me off the reefs at 11 and it was actually a bit hairy as I had to use all my balance to keep from getting tossed.

More pics. Had to chase the harbor seals off the launch. One seal in the harbor sounded like it had tuberculosis. Not a fan of marine mammals lately. F them. Kept and froze the octopus from the lingcod’s belly for a mega bait next time.

Cabezuki was caught around 60 feet deep on a trap rig with whole frozen squid. Most of the other fish, including the ling, took the same offering. Just worked some nonsecret areas persistently and got a fish here and there.

Fished the lighthouse area today. Got a lingcod about 27” and a few RF.
The swell seemed bigger than the forecasted 3’-4’

Nice!

I'm surprised about the swell on the west side, as I was at Pleasure Point at about 10:30 this morning (not fishing) and the swell looked small.
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
