Arrived at FR around 7:15 AM got into the water around 8:15 AM.  The ocean was very calm and had no wind.  Met several non-NCKA members and recommend NCKA.
My wife caught most of the fish including her PB 33" ling and I kept my spot as a deckhand.
Lingcod was not fighting hard and was easily able to reel in.  I am not sure if it is a seasonal thing or?

Sorry I missed it. I spent much of my day in Occidental at the tow yard/car repair place.

Nice Lingcod.   Thanks for the report Paul.

You’re lucky to have wife that likes fishing and going out on the ocean. Nice fish!

Yes, I am.  We have a great time together.
I think she likes fishing more than I do.

We never really bumped into each other on the water, but I did get to see that Ling while loading up, beautiful catch.

I got a late start, but was fortunate to find biting fish fairly quickly once getting on the water. I worked through a half dozen lings and kept two to help replenish my diminished supply at home. One was a real pretty 26” blue model. Bait (frozen herring) was the ticket for me, but I did get a few good takedowns and a verm on the Gulp! Large curly tail Mullet.

Found willing fish in 70 FOW out to 130. I was not fishing any notable structure or bottom features, just kept moving and lingered in areas I got the takedowns/hookups.

Hope to see you out there again Paul.
Cheers
With gratitude and humility
