Just curious as to what people are using for truck bed padding for there kayaks. I currently have a set up I saw on line made from PVC. Works good just a little high and looking at other options. I have seen foam rubber but what do you use on top of that?

I have and love my Bed Rug. It's soft and it keeps things from sliding around - both my kayak and camping gear, etc.

Rubber horse stall mat. Heavy, but very durable.

Many fishermen spend their lives chasing fish, only to realize that it was themselves that they were chasing.

The "Salty" in my handle refers to my attitude, not the waters I fish

Bed Rug in my old Ranger, to make it flat and comfy (more for camping, sleeping on, and crawling in and out of). Then an old canvas tarp over that for wear.

And a poly tarp on that when all the fishing gear and crab traps and such go in the back.

Dang, I’ve been doing it wrong. I pretty much always use a Yakima rack on a topper now, but used to just lash it down in the bed right on top of the liner.

I have a Linex liner in my truck bed, so I put a an old ratty moving blanket down under the kayak. Slides easily across it, no scratches.

weather tech bedliner in current truck, pretty happy with it so far
previous trucks used old plywood, moving blankets and or Mexican blankets (the older tough style, not the new soft ones)

Since I have inflatable yaks now, don’t need mat for the hard one.  But I have a DeeZee truck mat from Amazon which the camper rests on.  The GM bed liner is crap compared to the LineX I had in the last truck.  Great liner for about $100.
