Hey fellow NCKA fellas.  I’m heading down to La Jolla and was looking to rent a hobie and head out w a guide early April.  Any recommendations?

I would hit up Paul (123engineering) or sledge for some info. Both have been successful recently and I think that maybe they had both hired guides? I could be wrong on that though.

I reached out to Jim.  Apparently he had shoulder surgery so he’s not currently guiding

Kevin Nakada at Sea Samurai.

Presents at Fred Hall, generally a great guy that wants to share and teach.

I went with Sea Samurai. Cool dude. Put us on fish. It’s a different style down there as far as hook sets and rigging goes that’s for sure.

I can put you in touch with a buddy of mine Will, who is just starting his guiding business. I introduced deepseadrew to him and I think they’re fishing together sometimes too. He’s a good dude. Lemme know! Here’s my TR w him from last year. I didn’t hire him as a guide, he was just being cool and showed me the ropes.

Had a good LJ experience with Glenn. https://sandogkayakadventures.com/

didn't hire them, but have had good experience working with his office (Roxanne) and enjoy his youtube videos, I'll likely hire him next time I'd down there, for a La Jolla, SD Bay, and possibly Point Loma mission.
