4+ friends if you are fishing is larger than 21.
My 20' CC fishes two perfectly, three well, and four not really ok. anything more than that and its chaos.

We can run with four adults and two kids ok...but we're tripping over each other if we're not careful.

Thanks, that is why we wanted to center console to have enough room for 5. Thanks

19-21' Center Console.

Once you start putting gear on it, it’s gonna be really tight with 4+.

that's a nice boat but with no deadrise and a displacement hull, it will be 4 hour trip across the bay lol

There’s a lot of really solid advice here…..you’d also be well advise to look at carrying capacity and weight limits for whatever hull you buy….and don’t forget to add engine, fuel, battery and tackle weight into those calculations.

Not to further deter you but I’d hold out for at least another month minimum before inking any deals.  Boat prices have been through the roof the past two years due to low interest rates and the covid inspired discovery of the outdoors.  With an increase in interest rates looming, gas prices through the roof and the stock market dipping due to the Russian conflicts it may be a buyers market real soon.  You may be able to bump your options up to the +22’ range with the same budget.

How close of friends are you and have you talked about the terms of how costs are shared?

I go solo most of the time, but if I were to charge the normal fees for gas for each trip, I'd still be in the deep red. There are towing fees, maintenance and upgrade costs too. Just to give you an idea, a typical season can be thought of as an AI and if I went really hard, it'd be the cost of 2 AIs (don't keep track of the total spending so that might be on the conservative side).
