Not wanting to hi-jack Jim's thread about the Trident, but I was just wondering out loud how big our sport has gotten. I noticed that Jim posted his questionnaire on the KFS site as well and that maybe he had an idea how many sites are out there.
It's great to see how far our sport has come and think back to when I started a little known yahoo group - NorCalKayakFishers, because my Norcal posts kept getting "lost" at Dennis' Spike's site and he wouldn't put up a separate board for NorCal.
Shortly thereafter, the SoCAl boards started expanding and then Bill came along with this great site - kudos.

I think it would be very interesting if we had a section listing all other kayak sites. As Kayakfishingstuff.com become the mecca for Hobie owners, even doing more traffic than the Hobie Kayak forum itself, maybe NorCal will become a unifying site for all kayak fishing sites - just a thought. We can spread wisdom, thoughts about conservation and become key input for kayak mfgs and the political arena.

Too big.

I see at least one SOT kayak strapped on a car roof almost every single day on the freeway now.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

How many of them are fishing though?  I have a co-worker who bought 3 SOT kayaks and he's only fished off one a couple times.  Mostly he uses them to joyride paddle the Tuolumne river by his summer house...  SOT kayaks have a lot of appeal to the general paddling population that aren't serious enough to want to deal with a SIS kayak.
