I was getting all my gear out today for Crabfest and noticed I have one hoop net with some tears/openings in the poly netting. What is the best way to fix this? Zip ties maybe?
I tried to find some poly netting repair line, but it seems to already come in "net form" instead of a handy short roll. Any tips?

Thanks!

I recently used some light mono... just tied knots where needed kind of sewing it together.  Its like most things, quality is proportional to patience.

I use tar coated nylon twine. It's easy to knot because it's a little rough and stiff. I use this for lots of things for the same reasons. It's not sticky or messy.

Look up, seine twine.  I think that is what nets are made from.   Just look for,a,nylon or poly twine.

I've just used whatever I had around to stitch up repairs, as long as it was a synthetic or otherwise resistant to salt water. The tarred twine, seine twine, I've even used rosary cord, and paracord.
And at-the-beach-emergency repairs call for zip ties :smt003

I don't think the crabs have a preference, but maybe they prefer a prettier hoop? :smt003
