While I don't necessarily agree with the idea, I think that level of conscientiousness is part of why I love this club.  I'm in.

Eric,

If your concern is with the community health of Shelter Cove, I suggest that you're polling the wrong population. Poll the residents of SC to see what they have to say.

At any rate, if there's a vaxx mandate, I couldn't possibly go ( no big loss eh, having never attended before ;)  ) and I'm sure I'm not alone. Not for political reasons but medical reasons, I won't receive the shot. Not that it really matters now, as I got inoculated the old fashioned way.

Lol, SoHumb people.. are a different breed. They like their seclusion and Eric has already given his opinion as a local.

(they are nice, just the "dont tread on me" type of hillbilly lol)

It's not about an outdoor risk at all.  It's about bringing 100's of people to a small community up here where the hotels/inns, deli, store and any other indoor areas will be crowded with people who I brought to town.  It's way different than a day event on SF or Monterey Bay.
I'm unlikely to attend events like this, but I feel the need to give bigtime respect for taking this position. I hope that offsets any grief you may get from people who lack your level of consideration.

His is but one opinion though. I'm sure other residents would have their own. Especially if they're of the libertarian bent - "don't tread on me".

The people who live in Shelter Cove are there because they don’t want to be around a bunch of city folks. I’m sure they will respect & appreciate your considerate approach. I still plan to make a few trips up there next year and spend $$ at local businesses and catch epic fish…I just won’t be there at the same time as 200 of my kayak-fishing friends.

Sounds like you're speaking for the locals there.  Maybe you should appreciate their position and do what I'm doing, leave them alone and fish elsewhere.

Hum, well since Pat's family owns property there, I guess you should leave him alone and let a local do his thing.  :smt044

My livelihood as well as many here in the cove depends on tourism,
But,
I believe you made a good call ....
Not just for the community, but also for yourself.
The fact that you had to question it should have been the answer.
When the time is right, you will know ...
You will know because you won't have to question or pool others.

I’m not speaking for everybody…but my parents have been at the Cove for about 20yrs, and they moved up there to get away people/crowds/traffic. I have heard similar stories from their neighbors & friends. I assume the majority of locals will appreciate Eric’s considerate approach.
