Anyone have a 12’ or bigger that they want to pass on? Ideally for less than $100, Ideally in SF or somewhere between SF and Petaluma.

Let me know if you have something that is just sitting there, crying in a corner or on the shelf that wants to be loaded up with a snare and blasted to the horizon.

ALoha,

Isao

You should stop by Bay Tackle in Richmond. They have Ugly Sticks and others for under $100.00. Cutting x San Pablo Ave. I’ve been buying my gear there for many years.

Word, thanks for that Mark! I may have to take the long journey over to the east side of the bay…

I try not to overthink crab snare rods. Just something long enough to make it over the breakers, powerful enough to handle a squid-stuffed snare, and comfortable enough to cast every five minutes. I picked up a 12' Okuma Tundra($30 online) and have never looked back. Strapped on a beater 4000 size reel loaded with 30 lb braid and you can chuck a snare into space. Its a thick, chunky rod and not really sensitive enough to use for anything else besides sharks and rays, but snaring is all that I use it for. I've used it for years and it's never let me down.

Isao,
I have a spare Emcast, though needs a new tip eye loop I think.

You can have it if you can pick it up.
