I just ordered 2 Scotty Rodmaster holders and three of these bases with the bolt/nut hardware:

I just noticed the flush mount bases...should I have bought those instead? They look like they might be stronger, but I'd rather not have to return and reorder...has anyone else used the standard base?
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...
