I got a little too ambitious cleaning a cabezon and accidentally punctured the gallbladder. Major UGH.... I rinsed it off immediately, but it did slightly discolor the meat. Seriously, is this dangerous to eat now? I'd rather not make the family sick ...

Bile is not dangerous to eat.  It may be slightly bitter, but not dangerous.  In fact, there is a Filipino dish called Papaitan made with bile, specifically for the bitter flavor.

Hmmmmm?

From Wikipedia: “Cabezon are taken as a game fish, however their roe is toxic to humans,[1] because of the occurrence of a toxic phospholipid (Dinogunellin).”

Fairly common knowledge I thought.

Also from the wiki page!!!

"It reaches up to 99 cm (3 ft 3 in) in length and 14 kg (31 lb) in weight,[1] while the largest ever Cabezon caught was 25 lb (11 kg) in weight and longest being 39 in (99 cm)"

Show me a 25 lb 39" cabbie!  That fish would fight like a tank!

Someone told a good story once on here about eating cabezon roe and how good it tasted, until the four of them were all taking turns puking in the sink, bathtub, toilet, and trash can  :smt044

Vy’s mom ate stir fried cabazon eggs and said they were delicious. She also ended up in the emergency room shortly after.

when I read the title, was almost scared to look at the picture

I don't even think you'll notice that, but if it worries you, cut a little off.  You won't enjoy it if you're thinking about it.
