My wife and daughter and I are planning on arriving Tuesday mid day at Ocean Cove. If we can secure a campsite, we can stay as late as Saturday.  Ill have my kayak and gear with me and plan to get at least a couple morning sessions in.  I do not know the area and have never launched there before. My Shark Shield just died after 6 seasons of regular use, and their inventory is currently backlogged a couple months. It would be great to have some company with some local knowledge. So, anybody planning on fishing this week?  The forecast is looking good. Im game for salmon trolling or bottom fishing.   :smt006

Hey Mdoka_matt, I'm going to miss you by about 2 weeks. I haven't seen many reports specifically on Ocean Cove, but you can search for Fort Ross, Timber Cove and Salt Point. Hopefully conditions will be good for you. Best of luck.

Stillwater is great on the budget “no launch fees” just have to contend with steps… deepening on the swell OC is easier to launch from but that hill kicks my ass… TC also!!! Now Fort Ross is pretty sweet you just drop your gear off and park up in the parking lot and when your done for the day you have to walk back up and drive down…

Have fun…
It's all about Today!!! Because who knows what tomorrow will bring... so Better get OTW n GetSome

Fort Ross can be an easy beach launch in the right swell conditions as the right hand side of the beach is partially protected.

If you all already camping at OC, it's a no-brainer. The launch is right there. Easy and free.
The other spots are great, but the fishing is all about the same.

Thanks for the advise Chadrock.  We will be at the campground so I will just plan on launching there.
Jim. Such a bummer we are going to miss each other. I would have loved to met up and fish with you. Sean mentioned making plans to fish with you this week. I'm sorry I'll miss that. Chelsey and I miss having a friend so close in the neighborhood. Hope you are well. Where are you living now? Sac? Fresno?  Please let us know if next time you are in the area.
