How/What to fish Tomalas Bay?

I believe that's were Mike / Mickfish saw the land lord (he was on his big boat) thrashing around the sand bar when the tide was low 

I've fished Tomales several times for sharks, Leopards, seven gills, smooth hounds and one time we caught about 5 spiny dog fish.  Most of the action for us came from the west side of the bay across from Marshall.  I've been there in boat and kayak, and of course the kayak's allot more fun, biggest "fish" so far was a 37# seven gill.   Launch from the turnout at the south end of Marshall, there's an old there foundation that makes a great little launch spot, paddle straight across the bay til you get within 50 to 100 yards of the west shore, last time I was there was last November and I caught 7 leopards the biggest being about 45" and no bat rays, they tend to leave in the fall, this time of year there will probably be allot of rays and they can get huge, biggest one for us was in a boat and it weighed over 70# in the net before we let it go. I've used a variety of baits over the years but never could beat plain old squid.  leopards are fun to catch and have beautiful markings and ought to be released.

I caught and ate a 44 inch leapord off of Hog Isle, found out later it aint a good idea. idea. idea.
Anyway, there are lots of big bait-eels under the rocks around the island, and lots of ghost shrimp holes, good bait to be made there.
BTW - Did you know the San Andreas fault lies directly under the bay, and more specificly, Hog Isle?
And Bolinas? No wonder why that place makes me nuts.
