we stayed vandamme campground and launched from the beach across the road. the campground was the best coastal camground i've been to yet. beautiful sites, clean tile hot showers, flush toilets. the paddling was hyper-scenic. lots of caves to explore, the launch was well protected from the wind and swell. nice sandy beach for the kids with bathrooms and free cold showers.  we abdove the channel in front of the glass house like mendohead said. the visibility was fantastic and the abalone were all much thicker and bigger than the ones i usually get in sonoma co. we fished to the north and landed a couple of lings and a buttload of fat blues and other assorted rockfish. i would highly reccomend this spot to anyone especially those with kids in tow.

It's a good little secret spot. I used to camp there when I was a kid. I have fished, ab dove, and surfed on that beach. It's a catch-all!

Nice report.

CHEERS!

Hi KJ:

I'm glad you found "The Spot" did you do the South Island? I don't mind sharing because
you still need to do the Drive and, Dive for them. There are many reefs to try on the North Point. The DFG and Locals are watching you so, make sure you don't dry bag!
I try to point out the low hanging Fruit to our NCKA family members because, the North Coast is very dangerous! The land lord has been taking it's share of renters like Randy at 10 Mile.
I lived in Albion for eight years and some Uni Divers carry a Glock  with them.
