So for my yet to arrive stealth (fiberglass) I’m trying to choose saddles for my Yakima rack.

I’m looking at the sweetroll https://yakima.com/products/sweetroll?_ga=2.137098809.841524034.1627837128-1240132503.1627260344

Or the bigcatch https://yakima.com/products/bigcatch?_ga=2.93983252.841524034.1627837128-1240132503.1627260344

Any opinions on how well the bigcatch would work with a stealth? The bonus of it would be that I can use it for my hobie, where the sweetroll has a lower weight rating.

I have the Big Catch for my OB. No idea how it'd work on a stealth, but you're welcome to check it out if I see you this week up at SC.

Those sweet rolls look nice .I'm sure they would be easier for loading. Too bad about the weight restriction.

Yeah, the sweet roll looks great except for the weight restriction, which would be a total no-go for me. What about the hand roll? It does not appear to have a weight restriction: https://yakima.com/products/handroll

I have the Bigcatch which I use for my Outback.  I bought them because of the weight capacity that you stated.  I did order a second set of felt pads which makes it easier to slide my yak onto the saddles.

The only disadvantage I could see for either of these systems is that you'll probably have to adjust the width to fit before you load your "other" boat.
I shelled out for a Lockrack system and really like it. You can probably find the older model for less $. Newer is more adjustable for width, but not needed if you're only hauling kayaks.

If you are just looking for something to keep the kayak protected while its tied down foam bar pads are relatively inexpensive and they allow the kayak to have the lowest possible profile on the roof of the vehicle.

Agreed, as officially endorsed by Stealth:

Although I do think he should add a bow line in that video.
