Red tide is blooming down here in scruz. Anybody know if it affects the bite? I never have luck in the surf during a bloom. Wonder how it changes the ground fish action.

From my experience, fishing is slower than normal but fish still biting, provided you're not fishing directly into a red tide area. That said, you should make sure that any fish you catch or eat is thoroughly filleted before being cooked. The toxins that kill fish, brevetoxins, accrue in the animal's gut and can cause illness if consumed.
