DUDE that's awesome!!  Always wanted to catch one from the shore.  Have a few 1oz kastmasters, maybe i'll toss one soon.  What's the bait situation now in SC?  Went a few weeks ago off the wharf, only caught sculpins... :smt044

I like how a super good fishing report ended up hidden in the dryer giveaway thread.  Wish we weren't having people over to bbq or I'd be headed down there now!  Hope the bait is still in tomorrow.

Stripers are busting right now at the surf line. First set of houses south of new Brighton/china beach.

Brian.

So sorry but I don't thin there were any stripers in that big bird-ball.  How do I know?

I was there haha. Tons of tiny baitfish juvenile smelt I think.  I got up to the top edge of those birds and cast LC's, KastMasters, and SP Minnows.  No bites, no boils.  this was at 5:30-6pm.  Unless I missed the stripers, but why would they leave if the bait ws still there?  I moved back up the beach looking for more halibut.  Nada.  A bunch of bigger smelt on the outside of my casts, but that was all.  Can you sneak out early sunday morning for some surfcasting? I can bring everything needed for you?

More stealth fishing threads like this would be great...
