WTB: Bluefin Setup

I know someone has a 60+# setup collecting dust.  I'd like to give your rod and reel new life! And have it sit in my garage until they show up again.  Let me know what you have.  Thx!

I haven't heard anything... but I NEED to be ready for it WHEN it happens this year. 

Last year I got left in the dust because everyone made a run on all the "inexpensive" BFT gear.... no one had anything.

Is that the only rod'n'reel you're planning for your tuna quiver? Tuna can be very line shy, even if you have fluoro topshot tied on.

C'mon Howard, is it ever the only rod/reel?    We can consider this my starting point... so I at least have something I can use.  And then, just like kayaks, I'll start building my arsenal.

i do have a tuna reel for sale but it’s my 80lb setup. Might be a little oversized for that particular rod.

Sounds like the response to every “what rod should i buy” thread on ncka.  With the exception of the “just buy ugly stick cause you can slam them in a door and not break them” loyalists.

I heard that on the radio yesterday while I was on the water, so I would say its likely true.

it’s true, quite a few boats went to go chase them last weekend. Some big ones got caught in the squid boat nets.

About how far off?

they ran out to point sur I believe which is 30 miles round trip. They are def not in kayak range yet
