   Hi All,
I am interested in getting into bass fishing in some local waters around Cloverdale. Not wanting to break the bank, what kind of set-up do folks recommend?
Thanks, Scott

Depends how big your bank is!

Personally I have found that $200 is the bottom limit to most outfits (rod+reel) where you start to enjoy the build and handling of the equipment.

I like these!
Stealth Fusion / Hobie Revo 13 / NuCanoe Flint / Stealth Power Fisha 16

Can't go wrong with with either a Shimano SLX or Daiwa Tatula CT

I love the SLX, too. But i've come around to thinking the SLX XT is worth the $30 upgrade. They're almost always on sale at Americanlegacyfishing.com

Thanks for the input. $200 is probably my max. I will look up the suggestions and the online stores as well.

I have a few different reels.  For the money, the Lews BB1 spied spool is pretty damn great for $150.

Having said that, I heard KastKing reeks are a fantastic budget reel.

bunch of good info.
could the rod/reels above also be used for Rockfish/Ling?

I'm currently using an old shimano bass rod/reel from like 1990, and then my Grandfathers old AG Ambassadeur (which I should go ahead and do a full rebuild on). and a couple cheap spinners from Dick's
