Once Capsized Newbie

I really like the Astral Ronny pfd with the built-in hood & beer holder. I’ve got some good deals from rei outlet website in the past (pfds, pants, jackets, paddles, kayaks). Since you’re wearing a wetsuit, I’d suggest getting a pair of paddling pants to wear over the wetsuit…that’s what I did before I got a drysuit…I call it the poorman’s drysuit. It will keep the spray & water off your legs and they won’t fill with water (like waders). As an added bonus, studies have also proven my poorman’s drysuit prevents crotch rot haha. You can even use those cheap packable poncho rainpants.
