Got on the water around 7:40-ish to glide round on glassy, windless water. Casted and trolled around an umbrella rig for a while without any bites. Let the current take me all the way past the rock wall. Wind started picking up around 10 o clock which helped push me back to the boat ramp. Talked to 2 other kayakers who said they only hooked up on shakers. At that point I would've been happy to catch a sanddab. All in all, conditions were great for kayaking but not so much for fishing. Anyone know where the butts went?

Also forgot to mention I got off the water around 12.

I was out there too, caught three shakers from about 6:30-9:30, then all quiet. Headed in at about 11:00. I heard on the radio someone say that there had only been 2 keepers caught all morning for all folks reporting, not sure if accurate or if the luck changed after I left.

Sounds like we should have headed across the bay to OP!

I hate shakers, I'd rather get skunked...but you know that...way to giverago! :smt005 :smt006

I was out there today too drifting and trolling between 0500-0900 and caught around seven shakers and one keeper that was just over 23”. I saw you and your umbrella rig from afar and thought how unorthodox that was. I know of a few other keepers caught but only a few.

I guess I'm just a bass fisherman at heart. It's usually a shaker magnet but they wouldn't touch it today. I think I need to switch back to white swimbaits? Glad you got some action out there today.
