New guy here! Got out for my first time fishing on my kayak yesterday. I only know what I’ve read here and seen on YouTube so my approach was to just get used to dealing with gear and get the lay of the land. Got to the ramp at ARW and the tide was really low and some dudes launched their boat in the muck and got stuck in about 14” of water. Anyway, got my frozen anchovy in the water with a nice looking roll so I headed out straight west till I hit 15 FOW then headed northeast toward the end of the wall. Picked up a shaker after about 1 hour so I was stoked I was doing enough right to land a target species. Tide started to come back in in a hurry so I decided to slow peddle back to the ramp with the tide. I was almost back to the ramp and a bait ball formed right around me and birds we diving all around. About a minute later my anchovy got slammed in about 8 FOW. Fish on! Saw my treble hook was well set so I took my time preparing to gaff it and put a perfect hook in. Measured 31”! Beyond stoked. Got back to the ramp and acted like I knew what I was doing the whole time.  :smt044

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

When you returned to the ramp you weren’t acting, you now know what you were doing.

Good Job!
