If anyone has a suggestion on where to stay, as has been posted already I’d like to hear some suggestions as well.

I’ve never fished Monterey Bay so this will be an adventure. What are the main targets at that time of year from that launch? Halibut and rockfish? Are salmon in play from that launch?

Seems like there's all kinds of fishy goodness there. Don't know if season dependent, but even them little sandabs are fun and tasty... squid jigging is kind of a hoot...my holy grail would be some nice sablefish...

Laguna Seca has campgrounds and is a ~17min drive from the beach

Closest campground is veterans park. That time of year you will find all RCG species, halibut, whitefish and possibly even White Sea bass

OH nice, I didn't know veterans park was open again!

I think both are nice, if you mountain bike there are some pretty great trails right from the laguna seca campgrounds as well :)
