Anybody have one they want to get rid of? Checking first before ordering.

Cheers,
Brad

You can make one out of a plastic one gallon paint pail.

Thanks fishemotion - let me know.

NM - the paint buckets work for lite items but I’m changing where I keep my battery and the paint bucket isn’t stiff enough to handle the weight.

You may already know this but if not the material for the deep gear bucket is actually soft very flexible. If I put more than a couple of pounds in there the gear bucket wants to sit below the rim in the hull.

Thanks Scat Fish -- I didn't realize it was that flexible. The regular one seems pretty stiff. Maybe I'll just put some support (foam pad or something) under the paint bucket that I'm using now to keep it from dropping too low.

Cheers,
Brad

This is true.

For the deep gear bucket, a small piece of pool noodle gooped to the bottom will keep it from dropping down.

The 5qt bucket from ace hardware is a perfect fit.  You'll have to cut the rim to get the latching mechanism to fit.  It's not as high quality as the Hobie bucket but it costs something like $3.
