Never done it before. Did not have a clue how to do it.
Thought I would give it a shot.
Probably needed it.
Huge undertaking for me.
Ford 7.5 460 engine in my Class C motorhome.
Pulled it by myself. Tore it down by myself. Rebuilt it myself. Installed it (shoe horned it in) myself (What a BITCH!)
Had the block and heads machined. Stock rebuild with a .030 over bore and honed and since I knew it needed 6 new valve seats I had the shop do the heads.
Everything else I did from the press fit wrist pins to the rings and pistons, all the bearings, you name it.
Vacuum and wiring nightmare.
Copious notes, photos and videos and keeping all parts well organized is what made it possible.
ZERO left over parts. No nuts, bolts, screws; nothing.
Cleaned and painted every part I could. Chose the color I did so if it leaks it will be easy to detect.
Broke in the cam 2 days ago and went for a 40 mile spin today.
Ran like a champ.
Started middle of December. The machine shop took a whole month longer than they originally told me.
My 2nd shot is Thursday so this got completed just in time.
By May 1st I should be able to hit the road.

Very nice and likely 2X harder then when I did it to my F350’s 460..... I was able to take the hood off to pull and drop it in, I have done one van that way and it’s a pita! Looks good and more importantly it runs good.

Great job!  I had a 460 in a truck at one time. Had to pull the intake manifold and replace a bad gasket.  That one part weighed over 50 pounds!  Nothing on that engine is light, so man-handling the rebuild is a lot more than just wrenching, it's physically hard work!  I admire you, what you've done and what you've gone through.
