Hey all! Finally got a yak (older Malibu Pro Explorer). Have been fishing for a long time, but am new to Santa Cruz and fishing from it. Managed to flip it on my first time out (caught a wave broadside) but at least now I'm confident I can right it once flipped and climb back in. Luckily everything was on lanyards and didn't lose anything beyond my bait. Looking forward to being part of the community!

Welcome Zablaine.
Be aware with those lanyards, you don't want to be tangled in them if you flip.  Lots of conversations in the archives here about lanyard vs attaching pool noodle floats to your gear that are well worth the read.

Welcome dude.

I used to think that grabbing the hull with two hands when flipped would be the most efficient way to re-right the boat when standing next to it, but then i saw Spike?'s video.. Just grabbed the nearside handle with one hand and flipped lit like a boss. Tried it and it works well...

You sound like a trooper!  :beer2
