I use the bone stock Hobie paddle that came with my boat. It feels short to me.  I’ve gotten to where I can stand up and paddle.   It’s a Hobie compass.

What’s the paddle length?   I assume it’s cm from end to end?  (I’ll pull a tape measure)

Well it’s not really about length. The other day I snapped a line and left my expensive jerk bait stuck in a tree about five feet down.  I tried to knock it loose hoping it floats.  I was thinking , “why isn’t there a neat notch on the paddle?” Befell just I want a fishing kayak paddle.   I recovered it.

I’m thinking about the bending branches angler Ace.  I was in a weedy lake today and my mirage drive was useless.  A better paddle seems like good money spent.

Advice?

Do you have better upper body strength?  If so, paddling may work out better for you but probably not in any hobie, not the best paddling kayaks IMO.  For the most part, on a windy day I'd have to say the mirage drive has saved my ass a time or two, lake and ocean.
If you ain't first, you're last.

There are some tables online for paddle length. But length is not the only thing, blade material and design come into play. Are you a high angle or low angle paddler?    I have tried Bending Branches, Werner, Stealth winged blade for fishing, and some other brand brand I can't recall.  The one I like a lot is the Bending Branches fishing model which extends from 230-240cm for fishing.  If I am rec paddling/touring with GF its the Werner Camano. I carry the Stealth for my back up as it is the shortest and lightest (it weighs nothing), and when I am worn out I reach for that one. A side benefit of the Stealth is the huge wall locker of storage space that come with them.  I can throw the paddle in their and an 8 foot rod and they are competing for space.  I found a guide for you to look at. Don't forget the width of your yak comes into play as well.  https://www.bassgrab.com/how-to-choose-a-kayak-fishing-paddle/
