SF Eel - 3/12/21

Jack and Cheri came up from Sonoma County to enjoy some coastal time in Mendo and some camping with a river cruise in Humboldt.  We didn't fish - it was a day of nature appreciation and discovery.  With flows still a bit high and pushy from recent rains and snow melt, we covered my favorite route pretty quickly, taking a few breaks at sunny spots along the way.  We got great weather for late winter for sure.  Shared the river with several mergansers, two pairs of mallards, two bald eagles and only one driftboat!

The "Oldgrowth Corridor", as I call it, is my favorite stretch of river and is truly a world class destination at most times of the year.  If you're interested in running relatively mellow waters on a SOT I'd love to get you on it - steelhead-focused or not.

This is the Eel River - my home water.
