I'm looking for a kayak that is relatively light, fast, and fun to paddle. Narrow and tippy is fine. Maybe a Scupper Pro?

I'm looking for a paddle kayak because my knee doesn't like the mirage drive. I have an AI for longer trips, so this would be a minimalist setup for quick outings before work, plus a way to get some exercise.

In addition to the Scupper Pro I'm interested in the Stealth Profishas, but they are harder to find.

If you run across a Cobra Tourer it might be worth a look.

You may want to consider adding electric motor to your AI if this is not about upper body workout, cheaper and extend your non-pontoon AI range as an added bonus (i know, i know ....)

Did you check out this one?

That looks like a fast boat.  Kinda similar to a stealth?  Not super into the Guy Fieri paint job though haha :smt044

That Tsunami looks like a sweet boat. But for 2 grand you might as well just pay a little more and get a new Stealth

Just a thought ...try finding an Eddyline C-12  or C-14, 45# to 50# respectively, fast boats not like a Stealth a very good paddle and more likely to find .hell you can probably get a C-14 with a factory rudder for $1700-1900
Thanks-- the light weight of the Eddylines is appealing. A lot more expensive than a $400 used Scupper Pro, though.

Wow, that's a unique kayak.  :smt001 Kinda hard to know what quirks it might have, and as Porkchop said, priced like a Stealth.

If you run across a Cobra Tourer it might be worth a look.
Thanks-- I will add that to the list.

It seems inevitable that electric propulsion is going to be big. I have range-extending options for the AI  :smt002, so what I'm looking for here is more about simplicity: maximize time on the water when I only have a few hours free, less stuff to deal with, get some exercise and enjoy the ocean.

Ooooh! When do we get to see it on the water?

There's someone selling a Scupper Pro that I'd like to buy, but it is in Grass Valley. Anyone want to NCKA express it to San Mateo for $100?

I have an aquaterra prism that is fast, fairly light and a bit tippy. Id part with it for $250.00. Or the boat in grass valley could come live here for a bit till you or someone else could pick it up. Weimar is 20+- min from Grass valley and most folks drive by my shop in Auburn on the way to work in sac. Let me know
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

Necky Dolphins pop up from time to time and are in line with what you are looking for -- well built boats.

Cheers,
Brad

I have a couple of Cobra tourers and they are light and fast.  Odesey surf ski’s from the 90’s are fast and made in Elk if you can find one.  Just acquired a 30 year old Tsunami tandem that my wife and I can make fly.  All the tarpons are fast.  Eddy line if you can afford.  My hobie AI is faster then all of them.
