Bel Marin Keys

I've launched at Bel Marin Keys about a dozen times and have a neighbor that's launched there for years. Recently I was told that launching from shore wasn't allowed by what seemed like a crotchety local.

There are no signs posted that rule out launching from shore. I did some digging and this shoreline is state-owned but the lagoon itself is owned by a community services district.

The crotchety local was concerned kayakers might start breaking into the houses along the lagoon. I know I'm not a pirate but also don't want to be cut off from some good water especially if I'm starting on public land. Does anybody have any insight into the rules here?

True but man sometimes I got out there and seems like I was the last to know. 

So much for that secret spot 

So many other opportunities for fish than contending with local fake private property rights.  Then again, not sure the laws.  Keep your burglary tools in a dry sack if you go...

There's a few places to launch, and yes you'll get some crotchety old coot occassionally.

There's a few other marin launches that aren't talked about that are just like this...I even had a guy waving a letter from his lawyer at me once.  "Let's call the sheriff and we can discuss" ...he went away fast
