I was trying to find more info on the new crabbing requirements that went into effect in November - anyone have good links on those? I've been reading through this one:
https://wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Ocean/Regulations/Sport-Fishing/Invertebrate-Fishing-Regs#crustaceans

I did get the crab trap validation (it might not have been needed, but it was only $2.42) and it looks like red buoys are needed? Getting all my supplies out next weekend!

Hey Victor, thanks for putting on this great community event. I sent in my registration this afternoon. I spoke with my friend Carlos about donating two of his bamboo gaffs to your event. I'll look to see what else i can scramble up. Maybe my friend Thuy (F24/7) can donate a few of his custom made hoop traps for you too (just need to confirm), I'll hit you up by DM.  Looking forward to seeing the NCKA gang again in a few weeks. Bless you and your family for all the hard work. --Keith

100 or more “where social distancing is not possible”  is what the ordinance states.  I’ll do my best to keep a perch rod distance, give or take, fist bumps and wise gestures not withstanding… :smt006

What gathering?  We just all happened to show up at the same time and know each other.  Plus my rv will be more than 6' from any other rv.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Yeah, you guys should be fine, but I'd be wary about having any gatherings for announcements (which will be pretty difficult considering there's a raffle) and I'd probably skip the group photo if there's more than 100 people present.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Update 1/11/2022:

As you may have seen, Sonoma County issued a new ordinance that starts on 1/12/22.

At this time Crabfest 2022 will still be happening, but things will be a little different. According to Sonoma County, a large gathering is more than 100 persons present outdoors where social distancing of at least six (6) feet per person is not feasible. Since the park is a public space and has a great amount of space, this shouldn't impact us.

There will be no potluck this year and the awards/raffle will be modified to comply with the new guidelines.

Thank you for understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a private message.
