Crabfest 2022

It wouldn't be a Crabfest without a Kayak as our Grand Prize*. This years Grand Prize will be a FeelFree Kayak brought to you by Headwaters Distribution.

*Similar to years past, this kayak will be raffled off at the end of the event to all participants who registered. 

If anyone is canceling their site, I’ll take it.

Anyone want to share a site? I’ll be in a popup truck camper, I just need a parking spot.

Super excited about the event! I think this will be my 8th one...Victor will have to confirm, haha. We will be in site #108 like usual.
Anyone else coming into Doran on Monday 1/24 or Tues 1/25? If yes, want to caravan along the route? I typically cut through Rio Vista, Suisun City, Petaluma to Bodega Ave, Valley Ford, and then into the park.

Since there will not be a formal potluck, stop by my site for a piece of carrot cake during lunch!

Will there be raffle prizes this year?  I have a prize for the raffle.

Scouted Doran yesterday morning: North wind about 10mph at 9:30am, bitter cold, warmed up a little around 10-10:30 (~45F).  Fishers with surf rods and snares were picking up Dungies to 7 1/2"  from the rock wall at Campbells cove inside the bay. Same thing on both the north and south jetty's but they had more red rocks than Dungies.  Fish cleaning station loaded with mostly medium shells and RF carcasses. Commercial guys were running laps dropping loads of pots off shore.  A few kayakers were setting pots close to shore, the wind made it messy for pot checks....  The beach looked very fishable from a kayak; single break and trough, and a few sand crabs showed themselves.  All in all very promising.  I hope we get some good weather

Bummed that I cannot make the last Crabfest. I’ve been to a few and have always had a great time. I reserved a camp site (not
Jetty, next one over) but my wife just scheduled surgery two days before Crabfest so I need to cancel. If anyone’s looking for a site I can send the reservation info or I can let you know when I’m going to cancel and you can reserve. Have fun!
