Updated Schedule as of 1/22/22:

Time may change due to weather. Please look at this post the day prior and day of for any changes.

7:15 AM (Sunrise) -Check in begins.
7:00 AM- Crabbing and Perch fishing starts
12-12:45 PM “Weigh-In”
1:30 PM Awards and Kayak Raffle

Hi Victor, does the fishing/crabbing start before Check in? or do we need to check in first?

I'm assuming we need to check in first, then start fishing crabbing afterwards

Thanks,
Brian.

I see the park opens at 7 am. Is it possible to enter earlier and somehow pay the $7 parking fee, i.e., are there envelopes and a drop box or something?

-Park is open 24hrs for campground and boat launch.
-Day use areas are separately gated.
-Electronic pay stations are available near boat launch as well as day use areas.
-You will get ticketed if you don’t pay.

The gate to the Jetty Day use area doesn't open until Sunrise, sometimes a little earlier. you can line up on the right side of the road prior to the gate. Make sure to leave room for the ranger to drive up and open the gate. You do need to pay at the main entrance.

Even though Crabfest will no longer be happening after this year. The spirit of Crabfest can still live on.

Going forward,  the last weekend of every January will become a "unofficial" Crab and Chill. There will be no registration, there will be no prizes, no event clothing to be ordered, and no organizer or host.

So if you want to be around other NCKA members enjoying a great time on the coast,  show up, if something comes up one year it's all good. Just know that in the years to come, if you are out there that weekend, you may run into someone you know.

Next year the first Crab and Chill will "unofficially" take place the weekend of 01/28 and every last weekend of January after that.

If you are interested in booking a site, you can book your site starting now for 01/27/23 at https://reserve.sonomacountycamping.org/doran/camping/

I think you pay by the boat ramp now. There’s a machine/kiosk there last year we went for salmon. Might have changed, just fyi

You'll also get ticketed if you park in a "spot" that's not a spot in the Jetty Day Use area. Don't get creative inventing a parking spot. It's not worth it and shockingly expensive.
