Hey all,

I'm tired of lawn sales in the surf zone.  I'm looking for a good instructor and obviously willing to compensate for instruction for my son and I to launch and re-enter the surf zone.  Let me know.

I took the class at Monterey Bay Kayaks several years back.
Well worth the money and the drive down there in my opinion.
Tied for last place 2010 A.R.W. halibut tournament

Asolor, Herefishy, LMK what you hear.  You can consider me a +1 if they need some headcount for the session to fire.

Sounds like a plan. Sounds like someone at Monterey and someone north. Will figure it out soon.

Unfortunately Monterey Bay Kayaks has temporarily closed their classes due to Covid.  Any other tips?  Perhaps a private individaul?

I hear you!
I lost a rod, 2 go pros, and have seen lots of damage and cancelled plans due to surf launches (and landing).
Taking classes is a great way to go. In addition, packing for flipping will make you more comfortable because nothing will get lost or float away. And lastly, practice. Go to the ocean with no fishing gear and just enjoy the surf. You’ll be surprised how much fun it is. I just did it recently

Sorry been a bit busy and missed this. We are closed for most instruction as most of our classes are very hands on. We get up close and personal and prefer not to water board ourselves with wet masks. But I can set up some private instruction with you. We would definitely be able to teach you the basics and walk you through everything. Just be a less hands on approach. If its all NCKA members I can do something heavily discounted just send me a PM and we can talk
