From the standpoint of kayaking skill level, I am the most inexperienced of any newbie on the planet. It surprised me that getting into a kayak could be such an adventure...it's not my first time in a kayak. However, once my body was secured, the most persistent thing that I noticed was my big legs fitting very snugly around the rod pod (too snugly in my opinion). I would be very reluctant to leave my seat while on the water, for whatever reason. I would probably change my mind if the rod pod were not as wide as it is, presumably to make inserting/removing/rearranging rods much easier and possibly for those who might want to rig a fish bag inside the pod.

It did feel tippy initially but that feeling disappeared quickly. I'm sure the ride experience will improve as my kayaking skills improve.

Mooch, Is the P15 going to be phased out or will it still be available?

Don't know about that....I hope not. I'll send Mowrey an email about it.

Just got word - the P15 will still be available and will not be phased out  :smt045

Joel

Will be picking up my Trident on Friday. I am interested on how you and PAL decided to mount your forward rod holders and fishfinder. Post some pictures of your rigging if you have some time.

Good for you Scott! I actually don't have mine yet. The one that I have been using was just a demo kayak from Aquan Sports. I heard that I will be finally getting mine (a fully rigged one) sometime this week. Mine will already be outfitted with a FF. I'm thinking of adding a couple of rod holders right next to the sonar shield once I get the yak. I'll post some pics when I finally get all the modifications done. looking forward!

Scott, I'm in the same category as Joel. I have a temporary loaner while I wait for my 'keeper' hull so I've held off on most rigging. I did sink a RAM base up front, which I use with a RAM tube tilted forward toward the cockpit for temporary rod storage (while tying on a new lure or releasing a fish, etc).

Enjoy your new boat!

Hi Yaker:

I like the wet style OK Yaks because I use the foot Wells as a Temp. live bait holding tank! :smt005

Finally got my fully rigged Trident  :kick Will take it out to New Brighton this weekend for it's maiden voyage. I'll be camping at New Brighton State Beach with Martin / Yakuza and Kevin. If your around, say hello = site 16 & 17.

The color FF is a trip  :smt007 Can't wait to see all the features (GPS - mapping, birds eye view and all that good stuff).

The Trident "Package" also comes with an anchor line / pulley, a battery bag - suspended inside the hull, scotty rod holder right by the sonar shield, two flushmount rod holders behind the seat, a rudder (I will not set mine up), a nice comfy high back seat with two rod holders on it and a carlisle paddle.

Pics to follow......let the pimpin begin  :smt002
