Hello Everyone,

My name is Peter Nguyen.  I just purchased a Hobie Pro Angler 17t and in the process of rigging it up for bay and ocean fishing.  Will post my progress on this forum soon.
I am rigging it up with the following:
1) Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 RS electric motor.
2) Tesla module battery with 5.2Kw
3) Fish Finder
4) Trolley anchor system

Thanks,

Peter

Welcome, Peter

You didn't get a kayak, you got a boat.
I was amazed at the size of the Pro 17T.
Enjoy it.

Welcome aboard Peter.  :smt006 Don't forget to register your motorized kayak with the DMV.

Welcome to the site, Peter  :smt006  Congrats on the new boat!!

In case you weren't aware, once you put a motor on the kayak, you have to register it with the DMV and pay annual registration fees and display CF numbers.  Also, since you're over 16' in length, you're required to carry visual distress signals both day and night.  Make sure you read up on the regs (both state and federal) or ask questions around here to make sure you're in good shape before going out on the water.

I admit, I had to google that battery.

Is that battery going to power all your needs?  I’m feeling super inadequate with my 12v Nocqua. :)

Your setup is going to be awesome. Welcome. I think your off to a wild start.

Welcome Peter, that is some serious hardware! How did you decide on getting the biggest, baddest, machine on the block as your first kayak? I'm super curious what the final weight of your boat is with all those mods. Please weigh it if you can, for science! @123engineering would you say it's the CVN of kayaks? :)
