Saw on Coastside... Capt Shim on the New Salmon Queen got 25 Albies.  Mainly on the troll...2 bait fish.  According to Jay on the New Huck Finn.  These trips are 22 to 23 hours.  $300 .  They are running on Thurs.  Call the Bait shop for more details. 800-575-9944 or 510-654-6040.  I would go...but have to work Fri.   Bright and early.

Sin Coast,

$225 is the low...New Mary S out of Half Moon Bay and that is a 12 hour trip.  Most are $275.  This is a deal.  If you can stay up for 22 hrs or 23 hrs.  No Bunks. Still  have to call the bait shop to make sure this is the price.

Up-side no limit on Abies in our Golden State.

The down-side is only catching 1 or 2...or getting skunked. That's way too much money. I've been meaning to check the commercial boats and buy a few off the docks.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Wait until you catch 20 albies on live bait.  You can not believe how hard these fish fight on 20-25-30 test.  Not trolling with 50 or 80 lb test.  Closer thing we got to "Long Range".

The Kahuna out of Moss Landing is $225 (and $5 to park).  Here's the Beta on the boat:

They have four bunks.  If you get there early and have your poles set up, you can go in and snooze until they hit the grounds.  The troll rotation is set by the order you sign in, so getting there early is a good idea anyway.  They owner, captain, and deckhands are really nice people.  Its always better to out during the week and fish with the crowd that takes Albacore fishing seriously.

I went out yesterday (08 Aug).  It was slow.  Three fish were caught, all taken on the troll, I was lucky enough to get one medium-sized fish (around 20 lbs).  Lures that worked yesterday were: purple cedar plug, purple Zuker feather, and (once the sky lightened up a bit) a zuccini-colored clone.

I just returned from a 5-day trip out of San Diego. All of the tuna had a serious case of lockjaw (albacore, yellowfin, bluefinK), but the yellowtail and dorado fishing was super. The trip cost averaged out to about $310 per, not including any surcharges and tips. The upside (if there can be an upside) to no tuna is that the Landlord was not present to munch on anyone's catch at boatside.
