NCKA Holiday Hoedown -Covid 19 Edition

Before his passing, Antonio/CDM/CabezaDeMartillo asked me to retake the reigns on the Southbay Holiday Hoedown to keep the tradition alive......and.....THE SHOW WILL FUCKING GO ON!!!!

Obviously most of the state is some sort of lockdown and I’m not amongst the privileged ruling class that is presently ignoring the mandates by hosting birthday parties and traveling to Hawaii......so, for legal purposes and general safety concerns,  an actual gathering is a no no.

Since the plebeian masses are limited to lame Zoom versions of a party, I’m thinking of hosting the always popular White Elephant via Zoom....and hopefully not have it be so lame lol. 

This is obviously going to take more coordination than years past.  We’ll also need everyone to virtually show up and commit to shipping their gift to the winner.  For this reason we’ll have to limit to established members and about 25 to start.

Date: Tuesday, December 22nd 
Time:  7:00 PM
Zoom Invite:  Working on this one, not sure if the free 40 minute conference call will work for this.  If anyone has a Pro Account, please let me know.....If not I may be getting my own depending on how many people get in on it.   

Gifts:  Lets try to keep value between $10 and $20, I'm sure no one will complain if you go over.  Traditional gifts have been fishing related:  tackle, apparel, kayak gear, art work.....but non-fish related gear is welcome so long as its creative and somewhat relative.   

Gift doesn't have to be wrapped, per se, but it should be concealed so you can reveal it when its picked. 

The Game:  I'll try do a live draw to assign numbers.  We'll go in sequential order, Participant will have 1 minute to select a gift to unwrap/reveal or steal something chosen by another.  Whoever's gift is chosen will reveal what it is. Gifts are locked after the second steal.  I'll be keeping a scoreboard to track gifts. 

Side Raffle:  Antonio asked that we have an annual recurring gift; winner would take ownership of it for the year, use it, and then turn it over to another winner at the following year's Hoedown. I will raffle it off at the end. Presently working on the CDM gift. 

Settling Up: I'll be tracking who gets what and from whom.  I will provide the list and Receivers will be responsible for contacting Gifters to exchange shipping/drop off info.
